Book News: Imperial Commando
on the horizon:
Posted: 28th July
In an interview on Del Rey's website, New York Times
bestselling author Karen Traviss has intimated that her four-book Republic
Commando series will not end with Order
66, because "I'm continuing the Republic Commando series
in Imperial Commando books [and] there are a few other Star
Wars books in the pipeline too, including a Boba Fett one."
The Clone Wars novelisation author has a very busy schedule
for the foreseeable future as she is currently working on Gears
of War (about a squad of soldiers in a post-apocalyptic world);
a political thriller series about mercenaries; some comics work; and
at least another two The Clone Wars tie-in books. We may not
see her first Imperial Commando book or her Boba Fett novel
until late 2009.

Book News: The Clone Wars
to be "a challenging series":
Posted: 11th July
Writing on her own website, Karen Traviss has indicated that her
novelisation of The Clone Wars movie will be "loosely
based" on the movie and "full of the gritty,
off-message, character-testing, question-raising, grey-area,
military-oriented stuff you've come to expect from me. And clones.
Plenty of clones. And familiar characters from the movies that you
won't see quite the same way ever again." She also warns
that Karen Miller, her co-author for the five book The Clone Wars
novel series, "doesn't write predictable books either"
and that we should "stand by for a challenging series that
will make you take another fresh look at the Clone Wars."
