Book News: Wild Space
nominated for Scribe award:

Karen Miller's debut Star Wars novel The
Clone Wars: Wild Space has been shortlisted for a Scribe
award. The International Association of Media Tie-In Writers
has shortlisted Miller's novel in their Best Speculative Fiction
Adapted category. Commenting on her blog
Karen Miller said she was "massively chuffed!".
Controversially Sean Williams' The
Force Unleashed was also nominated
but never made the final shortlist. The winners will be announced
during San Diego's ComicCon (23rd-29th July).

Comic News: Dark Horse titles
for November & December:

have discovered listings on Amazon.ca for three new graphic
novels from Dark Horse Comics. First is The Clone Wars:
Slaves of the Republic, collecting the 6 issues of the Slaves
of the Republic storyline. While Knights of the Old
Republic: Volume 7 - Dueling Ambitions will collate Knights
of the Old Republic comic issues 36 thru 41 featuring Prophet
Motive, Faithful
Execution and Dueling
Ambitions story arcs. Both are listed for release in
November. Then in December Legacy: Volume 7 - Storms
is expected to collate Legacy comic issues 32 thru 36: Fight
Another Day, Storms
and Renegade.

Media News: First DVD volume of
The Clone Wars TV series released today:

A Galaxy
Divided, the first DVD volume release from The
Clone Wars TV series is released today in the US. It features
the first four episodes: Ambush, Rising Malevolence, Shadow
of Malevolence and Destroy Malevolence. It will be
released in the UK on 13th April. |

Book News: Art of The Clone
Wars to finally arrive:

It looks like The
Art of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be published this
summer. This title was first hinted at nearly a year ago by Publishers
Weekly and since then there has been little or no
information about from a vague intimation in Star Wars Insider
#104: "rest assured that books examining The Art and Making
of Star Wars: The Clone Wars are on tap from Chronicle, to arrive in
2009". Now affiliate
StarWarsTimeline.com have found a listing on Amazon.co.uk
for this title (as published by Titan Books, UK licensee holder)
with a UK release date of 22nd July and it is a 272 page hardcover.
We now await confirmation from LucasBooks with US release
information and details if a The Making of Star Wars: The
Clone Wars will be a separate title (or included within the
aforementioned Art of title) with abated breath.

being released in less than a week in the US, Del Rey have
published a short introduction to Fate
of the Jedi and a Dramatis Personae of the principal
characters. It also includes a sample chapter excerpt from Outcast.

at DK's sequel to their The
Clone Wars: The Visual Guide, namely The Clone Wars:
Visual Guide - Ultimate Battles. This new glossy hardback book
will be packed with images from the first two seasons of The
Clone Wars and according to StarWars.com is expected in
September, although Amazon.com are stating 20th July (US).

Clone Wars:

Coming this August from Klutz Books (a division of Scholastic) is Draw
Star Wars: The Clone Wars by Bonnie Burton and Grant Gould
(artist on The
Clone Wars Webcomic): Learn to draw like a Jedi Master
with this hands-on workbook. Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars
is packed with tips and techniques, practice space to draw right in
the book, and translucent overlays that make tracing a snap. Master
the art of drawing from within — beginning with stick figures,
then on to basic shapes, and finishing with details. Learn to draw
20 different Clone Wars characters, including C-3PO, Obi-Wan Kenobi,
Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, and
others. The book comes with everything you need, including a black
marker, double-tipped metallic colored pencils, and an always-sharp
mechanical pencil with a green lightsaber barrel. Of course, we also
include perhaps the most essential tool for any artist… an eraser.
Because sometimes even a Jedi Master could use a do-over.

Comic News: Star Wars: The
Old Republic - Threat of Peace #2 now online:

The second issue of Threat of Peace, the introductory
online comic for the forthcoming MMO video game Star Wars: The
Old Republic, is available to read online .
Threat of Peace occurs approximately 3,500 years
before the Battle of Yavin, about 300 years after the events of the Knights
of the Old Republic video games. It is written by Rob
Chestney with art by Alex Sanchez and produced by Dark Horse
Comics.

As reported on TheForce.net, Michael Reeves and Maya Kaathryn
Bohnoff's 2011 novel featuring a promising holostar - a rags to
riches story set against the backdrop of the early days of the
Rebellion will be titled Star Wars: Holostar
according to Bohnoff's blog .

Today sees the official release of three new The Clone Wars
children's books in the UK from Dorling Kindersley. The first
two are young reader educational titles: Jedi
Adventures (reader level 4) and Yoda
in Action! (reader level 3) while the last is The
Clone Wars Ultimate Sticker Collection: 96 pages of sticker
fun! |

Media News: Sansweet confirms The
Clone Wars DVD boxed set and Blu-Ray releases for first season:

2nd March)
Talking at WonderCon 2009, Steve Sansweet (LucasFilm's
Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations) confirmed
that The Clone Wars first TV season will be released as a
complete deluxe boxed set, "complete with value-added bonus
material" including "a “Show Reel” made very
early from rough concept art and paintings that helped explain what
The Clone Wars could be" and a Blu-Ray release. As yet no
dates for either of these releases.

EU Cantina are reporting that the DVD boxed set will be
released on November 17th in the US after a photo was taken at Toy
Fair showing The Clone Wars' schedule for 2009.

Comic News: Stradley discusses Invasion
with Official Star Wars Blog:

Dark Horse Comics' Senior Editor Randy Stradley has had a
short talk with The Official Star Wars Blog about Star
Wars: Invasion druing WonderCon. Stradley explains the
reasons for Star Wars: Invasion: "we felt that
Luke’s early years had been the focus for too long"; and
why Dark Horse Comics have waited until now: "now
that [Del Rey have] done their part, it’s easy for us to
see clear paths through the larger story of the Yuuzhan Vong
