Synopsis:
This book contains the following
stories:
- Creature Comfort by Matthew
and Shawn Fillbach et al.
On a heavily forested planet, Obi-Wan Kenobi and
Anakin Skywalker are confronted by a battle droid
fleeing from something. Instead of fighting, the
droid recommends that the Jedi flee, as well.
Picking a safe vantage point atop a large tree, the
two Jedi leap to apparent safety. They are almost
unnoticed when one of the large creatures turns
around and begins headbutting the tree. The Jedi
flee and are soon safely across a ravine... only to
find themselves trapped with an even larger beast.
Before they can be consumed by this monstrosity, a
large raptor picks them up, taking them to its nest.
Flying over the sea, a large sea creature ascends
out of the water to devour the bird. Skywalker and
Kenobi escape from the talons and drop into the
ocean, where Kenobi is promptly seized by a large
clam-like creature with tentacles. Skywalker ignites
his lightsaber and rescues his former Master,
dragging him onto shore. The two are once again
confronted by a creature- a small yet ferocious crab
which Kenobi quickly steps on. Finally able to catch
their breath, the Jedi jump in shock when the same
battle droid runs across the beach, warning them
once again to run.
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
- Spy Girls by Ryan Kaufman,
Stewart McKenney et al.
Padmé Amidala, Bail Organa, Sheltay Retrac, Captain
Typho, and C-3PO walk into an elegant gala hosted by
Bezz Drexx, who Organa suspects of accepting
Separatist bribes. Separating from the rest of the
group (much to Typho's chagrin), Amidala and Retrac
begin to mingle, hoping to gain more information
into the matter. Noticing that Drexx is being pulled
over by Separatist leader Passel Argente's uncle,
Amidala and Retrac follow, ignoring C-3PO's plight
at the hands of an overzealous droid lover. Climbing
up the stairs, the two women dispose of their
dresses to reveal bodysuits, prepared for action.
Disposing of several guards using various means, the
two reach Drexx's tower. They must split up when
they find a split end, and Amidala ends up finding
Drexx, about to accept a case of gold from Argente's
uncle. Amidala's camera is spotted by the pair, who
promptly send their guards after her. Tricking the
burly men with her weak, feminine appearance,
Amidala escapes into a speeder piloted by Retrac.
Back in Organa's apartment, they are pleased to find
that the incriminating video can be used to punish
Drexx for his betrayal. It's only when C-3PO is
credited for his help that a look of horror pass
their faces: the droid has been left to suffer with
the droid lover from the previous night.
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
- Impregnable by Chris
Avellone, Ethen Beavers et al.
BATTLE OF AMALTANNA
After a massive battle on Amaltanna, all of General
Bultar Swan's clone troopers are defeated. The
Separatist leader remains snug in his fortress.
Swan, determined not to fail, enters the heavily
protected mansion. Ignoring the taunts of her foe,
Swan slices through doors, fends off battle droids,
leaps huge chasms, and traverses through mazes,
finally to reach the impregnable door leading to the
leader's chambers. Quick on her feet, she slices
through the control panel with her lightsaber,
locking herself out, but locking the Separatist
leader in. Watching the Jedi exit the fortress, the
leader sighs to himself, knowing that his saferoom
will be his tomb.
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
- This Precious Shining by
Jeremy Barlow, Matthew and Shawn Fillbach et al.
Stumbling through the wreckage of their planet to
get to a waiting transport, Rayt, Bryn, and Wes
stumble across a completely devastated area.
Clambering through the corpses of killed clones,
Bryn overhears a message conveyed over a
still-functional helmet. The message calls for all
available help to help in the transport of
Separatist funds. Immediately ditching their rusted
transport, the trio don clone armor and prepare to
heist enough money to buy their own ship. As they
march towards the bank, Rayt spots one of his bank
co-workers, Trillan Katos, and his family
desperately holding off droids. Aiming his missile
launcher at the droids, Bryn scores a crippling hit,
allowing the Katos family to escape to freedom.
Dodging the shots of Trillan's wife who holds a
grudge against the clones, the three finally reach
the banks, only to find the real clones steps behind
them. Convincing the commander that they are part of
the army, Rayt, Bryn, and Wes are forced to move
aboard the Republic transport- finally finding a way
off of their planet.
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
