Synopsis:
This book contains the following stories:
- Versus by Matthew and Shawn
Fillbach et al.
Grandly surveying the audience of his arena,
Mondo-Mod the Hutt announced the contenders for the
evening: one Jedi Master, Luminara Unduli, against
an assortment of beasts, with no lightsaber and no
Force. For the first fight, Mondo-Mod unveils a
wampa, who Unduli quickly dispatches by jumping up,
grabbing him by his horns, and flipping him, using
simple physics. Second, the Hutt announces a durkii,
who the Jedi defeats by darting underneath his legs
and back, causing the creature to flip onto its
back. Finally, quite displeased, Mondo-Mod declares
the final contender: a heavily outfitted droid, who
is quickly disabled when Unduli flicks a rock into
its visor. Winning their bet, Unduli returns to
Mondo-Mod, who obliges their deal by handing her the
coordinates of a Separatist droid factory on Diorda.
Afterwards, the Master meets with her Padawan,
Barriss Offee, who, disguised as a masked gambler,
managed to win 10,000,000 credits, forcing the Hutt
to go out of business. Their mission a total
success, Unduli and Offee return to their starship.
Occurs at sometime during The Clone Wars.
- Old Scores by Chris
Avellone, Matthew and Shawn Fillbach et al.
HUNT ON NAR SHADDAA
Returning to the slums of Nar Shaddaa, Aurra Sing
meets with Urdruua the Hutt, arriving on tips of a
Jedi nearby. Arriving at his palace, Urdruua reveals
that Sing was the Jedi as metal doors close around
her and poisonous gas begins seeping in. Holding her
breath, Sing crawls through one of the vents,
emerging atop the building where another group of
thugs awaits her. Wiping them out, she targets a
group of snipers with her rifle, then jumps from the
roof, taking command of a speeder. Pursued by smart
mines, Sing ignites her lightsabers and dispatches
them, landing neatly atop another rooftop. Bringing
out her comlink to talk to Urdruua, Sing reveals the
presence of a bomb in the Hutt's building- as the
bomb explodes. Grinning slightly at the dispatch of
another enemy, Sing begins the hunt for real Jedi
once more.
Occurs at sometime during The Clone Wars.
- One Of A Kind by Jason Hall,
Ethen Beavers et al.
THEFT ON KAMINO
Arriving on Kamino with a pair of clone troopers,
Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi meets with Taun We,
informing her of a Separatist plan to steal the
original genetic source of the clones. As Master
Mace Windu contacts Kenobi, reminding him to be
aware of the Zeltron bounty hunter Vianna D'Pow, the
hunter herself appears around the corner. Killing
the clones, D'Pow is reminded of her childhood,
where she was mocked for being the only albino of
her red-skinned race. Taunting Kenobi with the gene
sample, she runs outside and leaps atop an aiwha,
closely followed by Kenobi, who manages to land on
the beast's tail. Crashing into the water in the
throes of combat, the aiwha dives, sending D'Pow and
Kenobi into a heated combat underwater. D'Pow
narrowly escapes, grappling onto her speeder, while
Kenobi believes that her mission as a gene thief is
a failure- having managed to retrieve the genetic
sample of Jango Fett. Returning to Tipoca City, Taun
We informs him that her personal mission was a
success: D'Pow had previously placed an order for a
clone of herself. When asked if the order should be
canceled, Kenobi allows it to proceed, simply
stating that nobody "should have to be
alone".
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
- Pathways by Jeremy Barlow,
Matthew and Shawn Fillbach et al.
Marching on a Republic stronghold on a forested
planet, a lone battle droid steps on a mine, blowing
the line apart. Shockingly, that battle droid
survives, his connection to the hive-mind severed.
Realizing that he has a life of potential ahead of
him, the droid flees, only to be spotted by a super
battle droid, who pursues him only to be knocked off
a cliff, the battle droid falling shortly behind.
Walking away from his crushed former-companion, the
battle droid finds a secluded tree, where he sits
down, his power source already depleted. He remains
there for some years, only to be found later by a
group of farmers, who decide to power him up and use
him on the farm.
Occurs at sometime during
The Clone Wars.
