[The Clone Wars: Comics & Graphic Novels]

Comics
US comics publisher Dark Horse Comics produced both original story comic books and graphic novellas that detail new stories from The Clone Wars. Featuring artwork reminiscent of the animated series, the 12-issue comic book series stories were written by Henry Gilroy, head writer for The Clone Wars animated series, while the ongoing The Clone Wars Quarterly series of graphic novellas features stand-alone stories written by selected Star Wars comics authors.
To accompany each episode of the first season of The Clone Wars animated TV series (2008-2009), StarWars.com published online a short comic story, written by Pablo Hidalgo, that acted as a prelude to each episode and as such were not stand-alone stories. They were later collated into a printed graphic novel titled Tales from The Clone Wars Volume 1 (published 2010 by Dreams & Vision Press).
For the second (2009-2010) and third (2010-2011) seasons, StarWars.com published complete stand-alone stories, Act on Instinct and The Valsedian Operation. There was no such story to accompany the fourth season (2011-2012).
In November 2009, Titan Comics in the UK began publishing original 8-page comic stories in their monthly Star Wars: The Clone Wars Comic. In October 2010, Titan Magazines began republishing their UK comic stories in the US in their bi-monthly Star Wars: The Clone Wars Magazine.
