Synopsis:
The Yuuzhan Vong continue to tear their way through the
worlds of the Imperial Remnant. With the aid of the
Peace Brigade, they have captured Ord Sedra and have set
to work converting it into another slave camp.
Unbeknownest to them, one of the people being herded out
of the villages is Jedi Master Kyle Katarn – who
dramatically unveils an ambush by stormtroopers that
captures the Peace Brigade traitors and frees the
village’s inhabitants.
With that done, Kyle and Jan Ors can now go on to their
meeting with the Imperial leadership. Kyle, though, isn’t
thinking of war and politics as much as he is of
marriage and children – both with Jan. Jan, though,
won’t even consider either until the war is over. “If…when…we
become ‘the next Luke and Mara,’ it shouldn’t just
be because we might not be alive to do it later. When we
make that commitment, when we do get marriaged, we
should be able to settle down and enjoy it…not do it
out of fear.” No sooner do those words leave her mouth
than the Vong break out of the prison Lieutenant Pallin
had put them in and start rampaging through the village
again. Jan immediately rushes out and faces the enemy
head-on. Kyle’s right behind her, silently praying she
doesn’t get herself killed.
Against all odds, Kyle and Jan survive and defeat the
Vong forces. Again they save each other’s lives in
battle. And again, Kyle’s anxious wait for Jan to say
“yes” begins…
