Synopsis:
In a seedy bar in Mos Taike on Tatooine, a drunk Mon
Calamari boasts of having seen one of the infamous krayt
dragons. The bar crowd ignores him - all except for
Imperial bioengineer Dusque Mistflier and her Ithorian
partner Tendau. Well, them and a pair of greedy Zabraks.
The Zabraks take the Mon Calamarian out into the desert,
with Dusque and Tendau trailing them from a distance. Up
ahead, the Zabraks and Calamarian are ambushed by a
group of Sand People. Thinking fast, Dusque sneaks out
to the tethered banthas near the Tuskens and sets them
loose. The Tuskens panic as the banthas stampede away
and give pursuit.
The three fortune hunters continue east, followed by
Dusque and Tendau. A thousand meters later, the hunters
realize they're being trailed and corner their pursuers.
With night and a sandstorm coming, the Zabraks decide to
tie the two Imperial workers down and let the sandstorm
have them. Dusque manages to free her bonds and helps
Tendau out as well. When the storm passes, the girl's
ready to go back to Mos Taike. Tendau, however, sees no
point in leaving now that they're so close.
The two finally reach what the Calamarian spoke of: A
krayt graveyard. They spot the three fortune hunters, on
the run from three angry dragons. With the dragons drawn
off, Dusque and Tendau sneak down into the ravine of
skeletons and find "pearls" - stones swallowed
by the dragons and polished in their digestive system
for years. But for those two, the precious
"pearls" pale in significance next to a real
prize - a krayt dragon egg! Worthless to the bar patrons
back at Mos Taike, but priceless to Dusque. |
